Joseon Dynasty King Jeongjo envisioned a new Hwaseong with the guidance of Jeong Yak-yong. Having weathered more than two centuries, Hwaseong was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1997, continuing to breathe alongside the daily life of Suwon today.
